Acclaimed Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson has unveiled his latest large-scale art project, this time in the palace and grounds of Versailles near Paris. Running from 7 June to 30 October of this year, the show is a magnificent meeting of artist and site, creating an augmented reality through which visitors can experience the space in new ways, questioning their perceptions of existence. From a waterfall seemingly suspended in mid-air over the formal ponds, to convex mirrors hanging in vast ballrooms, down to tiny spyglasses embedded in the windows, Eliasson’s thoughtful installations present an entirely new way of looking at this historic location.
